Now or Never

Balance

Balance is a word that the world has forgotten.

We’re pushed via social media, and the dopamine addiction that our phones have become, to truly alienate any internal sounds that may be coming from within our body or mind. Instead we see other people performing at the top of their game which constantly hides the depths of despair that we feel with our own mundane life. We then try to imitate other people who have different balance point compared to us.

I dare say that you can’t develop internal balance, and from that original thoughts if you’re not able to just do nothing. This means not looking at your phone. Nothing means looking into air and letting your brain wonder in it’s own thoughts.

But holy shit is this phone addictive. “Did i receive a message from my wife yet? Has my order been shipped yet?”, “I wonder if there are any new updates on insert favorite social media”. It’s a freakin mental prison the modern phone. If you want to get an understanding of how it will be when our AI overlords start telling us what to do, we can already see it in our day to day usage of phone. After scrolling through our phone we start with “I probably should buy one of those things”, or “maybe I should do more insert some wierd fad

In a way I’m thankful that my kindle has only one function which is to display books, at least I can read uninterrupted. Now that I think about it, my phone isn’t actually a phone as I receive no calls these days, it’s a supercomputer that is doing my thinking for me already.

It’s surprising what our minds tell us when we are ready to listen. Balance is sitting right within us. We just have to find it. Try for at least an hour a day without looking at your phone. Try it.. You’ll find it’s nearly impossible.
